In the old days of analogue broadcast satellites it was quite easy to align the dish using a sat finder with an audio output where the tone frequency corresponded to signal strength.
The higher the tone the stronger the signal.
If it already exists, I apologise, but if not, then this functionality ...

We have a project for a spacecraft in low earth orbit which should have an X Band downlink. Although intended for ranging activities it should also be possible to use it as a linear transponder (with a L Band uplink).
So a question...is SDR Console doppler tracking already able to deal with the rate ...
