Just a standard recording made in Console
I cant get any further than clicking the folder open icon in Rec/Playback so I dont think its the type of recording, the blue circle comes up for 5 secs and console disappears, I have re previously run many recordings but obviously I cant get to see the Folders/Files etc

Regards Ian
Ian,

Do you get a 'Please Wait' and a crash dump? If so, I would like to see the crash dump.

I do not get a please wait, it crashes very quickly, maybe 3 secs
I have created a crash dump file but got to find a way of zipping and uploading as its just over 1 GB (not familiar with this process)

The files I use are standard WAV files but I can't get to the folder so ithe fault lies prior to accessing the files

Cheers for the help

Regards Ian

To be honest I think this is going to need Simon to look at the crash dump or log file to see what the issue is.

Out of interest, does it do the same thing when the Ribbon Bar is not minimised?

Did you try making a new folder then recording into and playing back from the new folder in case the current folder is corrupted in some way?

OK.

Click Rec/Playback

Click "Open"

Before you click Folder(if that is where you get the crash), open up the snipping tool and take a pic of the area, so we can see the dialog window prior to when you carry out the action that causes the crash.

Also, try this.. access the folder where the files are kept using File Explorer. Check the list of files look as they should be.
Then, move the files to another folder altogether, then try and access the original (now empty) folder in Console.

Hi Jim

It crashes as soon as I hit open in REC/PLAYBACK within console so I never get any further. I dont see where its heading within Windows, I presume it has a memory of a previous search but i dont know where its looking becuse it crashes before I see any files or windows folders to select Thats why I think its an issue with my comp somewhere, I did see that vy quick flash up in console of SDR Console not responding in the top left corner of console
As soon as I hit Open its gone in 3 secs so I never get beyond Console. Its a weird one hihi.

I have got as far as compressing the Crash dump file but not sure where the Compressed file has gone to, I am a right computer dork at times, Then i have got to learn how to upload the compressed file
In clicking other icons like Browse etc it does not crash

The ribbon bar changes made no difference Max

The folder path for the recording is set when you initiate a Recording. THat's when the folder dialogue comes up, so press "Record" and this will reveal location of the folder. At this point, (before you press START) don't use the old folder, navigate to a new one for the recording, THEN press Start to make a quick rec (to set the new Recording folder). THEN try and open it. See if that helps.

Obviously the object of the exercise is to record in a new folder and in the process reveal the location of said folder so you can also navigate to it outside SDRC to check the recording is there and playable.

Good luck

Max

Hi Max

Thanks for the suggestion, a good idea, but I tried a couple of different drives and folder locations with no joy.
The WAV files play fine with other S/WARE
RAM usage is at 71% and the CPU at 23%
I have been doing some general cleaning up of the main SSD drive but still no joy
The main thing for me is the Main Prog is running FB as usual.
I had not done any recording for 12 months and then recorded a file this week so I am not sure if that was the trigger.
I like to record the MW band overnight in Winter

Appreciate the help from you,Jim and Simon, will play around the the crash dump file tommorrow
