Spectrum & Waterfall Coloring?

Hi,

Simple questions, I know, but if anyone could clarify the
following for me, would be appreciative.
Just can't seem to find the right procedure for doing.

Regarding coloring the Spectrum, and the Waterfall:

I went to Tools/Options/Palettes

Clicked on Add

From here on I'm a bit lost.

a. What is "Position" ?

b. What is the significance of the two clickable boxes
at the top and bottom (right hand side) of the color Spectrum that shows ?

c. How do I do this magic separately for the Spectrum, and then later for the Waterfall colors,
without messing up what I have already done for the Spectrum ?

I would prefer a solid color, rather than shaded.

Really appreciate any help.
Thanks,
B.

Search some more - I posted a description of how to do it a few days ago elsewhere. The comments to that posting answer your questions.

Or do what I did - experiment.

Hi,

Few comments:
  • The same scheme is used for the spectrum and waterfall.
  • In the spectrum it's shaded so you see the annotation behind the signal.
  • The top and bottom boxes [_] are for selecting the colour at that position, the scale is from 0 to 255.
  • Click Default 1 or Default 2 for examples.
