PC crashes after recording

When I am recording a data file, pressing "Stop" and then "Open" (to delete or review the recorded data file) in quick succession results in a computer crash. It locks up, comes up with a message "Out of memory" and then the PC completely freezes requiring a reboot.
I am probably in too much of a hurry and should wait a few more seconds before clicking Open but I have found this happening a few times lately.
I am using the latest released version build 2412 with 64 bit Windows 7 and 2GB RAM. The memory usage in SDR Console sits roughly around 700-800 MB before it crashes, which is about normal use. Generally it runs fine on the computer.
