Is there an ADC overload indicator in SDRC ?

I am not aware of one. And there is no good way to deduce it automatically with most ham price level A/D converters.

Of course, if you get into an overload condition it's usually very obvious from the spectrum display. As you change gain many signals will appear or disappear depending on the gain change direction. It's usually very dramatic.

AFAIK it depends what radio you are running, and therefore what data that radio reports to SDRC. Hermes Lite does have an overload indicator for both RX and TX. Some other radios maybe have the same?

The SDR-iq has a red LED for overflow.
Not so sure about the SDR-ip, it's out in the repeater shed acting as a server.

Regardless. when you really go into overload the display very suddenly grows a whole lot of high level grass and spurious responses. Many ADCs will simply overflow the top bit of the number leaving you with a very low number that should actually have full scale added to it. When that happens the spurs happen.
