Re: Lightning
I'm curious as to how the RSP dx is affected by AM BC stations? Do you see images of AM BC stations like I do on the RSP1A all the way up into 40M? ie We have a powerhouse station +45 miles away on 1030kHz, but unless I put my DIY AMBC filter in line, I can see/hear it on 2060, 3090, 4120kHz, etc Th...
Re: Lightning
I have videos of my SO-239's on my patch panel snapping (arcing over) during distant thunderstorms. The 160M inverted vee (no balun) is first to snap, then as the storm gets closer, the 80m inverted vee (again no balun) will snap. So depending upon the size (capture area) and balun or unun type (how...

KA1GJU Super Station #4 moved to different computer
I was tired of the old $20 HP Windows 7 netbook disconnecting from the LAN intermittently, usually while I was away from town. Moved it over to my daughters old W10 laptop that also hosts two Icom remote bases. When either of the two Icom's are powered up, the HF antennas to Super Station #4 get dis...

Re: Help please to receive HF
J. Cabot, Do yourself a HUGE favor, get a real HF SDR if the HF spectrum is your primary listening choice. I use MANY Airspy HF Discovery's in my fleet of SDR servers. The SDRPlay (RSP1A specifically) is easily overwhelmed with AM broadcast signals to the point I had to install an AM BC filter on th...
Re: Software
"HOWEVER SDRConsole won't start." As in SDR Console does not boot up properly, or when you press "Start" on the GUI (Starts the previously used radio, if there was one), the SDR doe not start? Did you select your SDR from the definitions? After installing the latest drivers, did...

Re: Help please to receive HF
SDR Console needs an SDR to connect to, Simon has not written code (nor will he I presume) to connect directly to a Yaesu. The SDR typically connects to the IF port on a HF rig, but restricts you as to operating bandwidth on the SDR. Other method is to split the incoming RF from the antenna (lossy) ...

Massive wind and rain storm in New England
Just a heads up...
My servers may be offline intermittently today due to power interruptions. Horrendous winds and rain are taking trees down onto powerlines throughout the area.
Just had a 10 second outage and new IP address given. My free DYDNS has already updated the world. lol

Re: Phone and Internet are down at KA1GJU
We’re back on line. Moving truck three miles away severed the fiber optic cable. I saw the trucks
splicing the cable an issue hour ago.

Phone and Internet are down at KA1GJU
All servers at my QTH are down, no Internet/phone service.
My PCARC site is up though, same provider, but 10 miles away.

Re: SDR-IQ carrier on center spectrum
That is what is known as a DC Spike, more info here: https://forum.sdr-radio.com:4499/viewtopic.php?t=978 If running an SDR-iq locally, SDRC will make it go away with time. But for some reason, running and SDR-iq via a server (Like I run all of my 13 SDR's I have on 5 servers) on large bandwidths, i...
