Haven't listened to that for maybe 50 years.
So treated myself to Orchestre de Paris, Paavo Järvi (lazy YouTube).
No other Finale like it. Thanks.

Re: Another Kind of Signal History?

a pair of receivers Hi Joanne, interesting. Glad to get some smart feedback. (1) Not at all sure I get what you mean by "pair of receivers". A physical pair, dedicated to day-long monitoring is um, er, well, "expensive". Still, going with that... One SDRC instance Signal History...

Re: Another Kind of Signal History?

Forgot to include an example using standard Signal History...
The hope is for a baseline "Modulation-to-Noise Ratio" very much closer to zero, i.e. nothing distinguishable from background noise.

Another Kind of Signal History?

Looking for comments on an idea for a variant of @Simon’s excellent Signal History. The context is Medium Wave AM BC DX – weak signals – when a carrier can be prominent, but ID relies on detecting the elusive audio. 24-hour Signal History graphs on a target channel have been very informative. Howev...

Re: Airspy Discovery Sample Rates Supported

"We can ALWAYS use more servers on the network..." Kriss, my current location is (sadly) one of the worst you can imagine - so would be of no use to the community. But I took up your brilliant suggestion and it works perfectly, as you said. That's got me thinking about an old RPi gathering...

Re: Airspy Discovery Sample Rates Supported

Kriss, thanks for your reply. Most interesting!
Exploring the server capability has been on my job list for ages.
Trouble is, every "plat du jour" lasts more than a day.
Maybe I should get my priorities right :)
Best regards

Airspy Discovery Sample Rates Supported

Currently, sample rates for the HF+ Discovery are limited to a range of 192 to 912 kHz.
Occasionally, hunting for weak signals, a very low value (e.g. 32 kHz) can be useful.
Would anyone else be interested in this addition?

VHF/FM Multipath Measurement

One enduring memory from childhood was my father "suborning" BBC Research Department colleagues at Kingswood to help align our very first simple Band II dipole. They came equipped with an impressive test set which was described in "Wireless World", December 1959, pp 559-562 (down...

DSB-Binaural?

I'm very confused why binaural is available for AM and SAM, but not DSB. SAM-Binaural makes sense in phase-locking the (virtual) CIO to the *strongest* carrier. An "unlocked" DSB-Binaural alternative would be useful for resolving stations with closely-spaced carrier offsets - by "shif...

Frequency Database Display Grid Configuration

This is a well-integrated feature with column sizing and flexible filters. Various past enhancement requests have been incorporated. If Simon can find time, here are my own "favourite" ideas to go further. General: (small matter) Highlight the column header row. Filtering: Applying or remo...
