Minipa100 parasitic oscillation - help?
Trying to set the standing current at 1A on this amplifier kit. At about 240mA, the current rises uncontrollably to 8A. Temporarily connecting a diode detector to one of the transistor drains it detects 65v dc - oscillation. I've terminated input and output with 50 ohm. Has anyone found a fix for th...

Re: OP power and Drive controls question
I just did a quick tune up into a dummy load with an oscilloscope across it. With 'Drive' and 'OP Power' controls at maximum, the power output on my Hermes Lite 2 with gateware version 72.8 appeared to be:- 160m 6.8W 80m 6.7W 60m 6.8W 40m 6.1W 30m 7.4W 20m 4.9W 17m 3.7W 15m 3.3W 12m 7.2W 10m 8W Thes...

Re: OP power and Drive controls question
Helmut, that's useful data about the AD9866 - I've just had another look at the data sheet. However, it doesn't help answer how the SDR Console controls and indicators relate to the hardware and how to achieve maximum undistorted output. What is the hardware indicator 'ADC 100' and the SDR Console i...

OP power and Drive controls question
Had my first QSO with fellow Hermes-Lite user and long-time constructor Mike Grierson G3TSO yesterday, I was using the barefoot Hermes Lite. He said it sounded well. My questions relate to the 'OP Power' control in the Receive window, section Radio versus the 'Drive' control in the Transmit window, ...

Re: Hermes Lite goes portable with SDR Console
He reports: "Haven't tried 384 ksamples/s but 192 ksamples/s worked. I’ll stick with 96 ksamples/s though when using the small screen".
That makes sense - pointless displaying a frequency range that makes it hard to tune to a signal.

hermes lite - various Rx gain issues
Hermes Lite / SDR Console is a great combination, my favourite sdr. This is a request for a button in the 'Radio' section to set SDR-Console automatically controlling the 'RX Gain' level so that the rather modest 12 bit receiver a/d is served with the largest possible signal with only occasional ove...

Hermes Lite goes portable with SDR Console
It's surprising how small a platform SDR-Console will run on, providing you don't run too much else. I run a Linx 10 tablet with 32bit Windows 8 - it's my only portable device. A quick trial with SDR-Console to the hermes lite via wifi was no good - audio was choppy and soon the PC crashed. To the r...

Re: Plugins, Or Third Party Apps ?
Myself G4BBY and a friend VE7ZN are much enjoying discovering SDR-Console features with the excellent Hermes Lite transceiver. Our favourite application for sdr, now. I run the radio with two 23" monitors - woohoo! My friend on the other hand is going all out for portability - he's running sdr-conso...
