It would just be a tool for those who WANT to use it and it could be switchable on/off. And it could be set up to only work in bands that you have defined. So if you only defined FM, AIR band and PSB, then those would be the only bands it would work in. The rest of the dial would still work as it do...

Will do. There would be no problem at the border as USA and Canadian PIs don't overlap at all, even the network codes.

One thing I'd like to see added is Canadian RDS callsign & location decoding similar to that done for the USA (which is AWESOME by the way - makes quick IDs so easy). A while back I sent you the Canadian algorithm. I hope you find time to add it some day.
