I just looked at the filter design window again, the lengths are 1+2^n. Basically powers of 2. Ok, so it's not going to happen. Probably would not have happened anyway.
Thanks for the insight.

Re: Option to use IIR instead of FIR filters
Having not done that before myself, it wasn't apparent to me. So the length that we specify for a filter is the FFT length? Seems like that should be a power of 2. And the windowing function, also for the FFT? In my limited experience with DSP I have worked with time domain filters on several occasi...

Option to use IIR instead of FIR filters
I chase NDBs and there are many in the NDB community who prefer the 8 pole analog filters to the digital filters in SDRC. I looked into this and I believe that the reason is related to the shape of the response. The analog filter commonly used has a nominal bandwidth of about 8hz with a response tha...

SDR as a TX monitor? - Maybe not
I was on HF running FT8 and was noticing people struggle to copy me even when my signal was strong so I wanted to set up a monitor on my signals. At first I tried just running an AFEDRI with no antenna but I became convinced that the ugly signal was at least partially related to the AFEDRI. So I tri...

Recording Scheduler File Option
I make overnight recordings of the NDB band using the scheduler. This results in 60 or so files in the specified directory for each night. After you have a few nights of recordings in there is becomes very cumbersome to navigate in the folder. So I started manually creating a subfolder for each nigh...

Re: CAT control to specific receiver
After another experiment, it looks like CAT always goes to RX1 so, if that is my FT8 receiver then all is well.

CAT control to specific receiver
When running FT8 and using SDRC as the RX, it is controlled by WSJTX via CAT and this works fine. But, if I also have a second SDRC receiver defined and I am listening to something on it and then change bands on WSJTX, the band change goes to the currently selected RX. It would be nice if CAT contro...

Re: Console and Elad S2
Hmm. Just tried it with SW2 v3.033 and it behaves the same as console. The signal peaks do not move. I have an external low pass filter set for 530Khz for my NDB hobby. In the pass band of the filter, the noise floor does not move when I switch the attenuator. In the stop band where the external noi...
