Re: Difference between RX-888 and RX-888 MK2
I own the original RX-888 and wondered what the differences are between that and the MK2? Basically is it worth the upgrade.. Thanks In this blog post, you can see Jinze (Justin) Peng's announcement of the MKII, and he outlines the differences. https://swling.com/blog/2021/02/new-rx-888-mk-ii-sdr-r...

New video card - opinions sought
(also posted in groups.io) Hello, friends. Last fall, I built a new computer around an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X with 64GB of RAM. I used my old video card, an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition with 8GB of RAM. I want to put that card back into my old computer and am looking to upgrade the card. I'm ...

I know this little thing is not a big deal, but I also know you are a lunatic for tight code!

Little artifact beneath AM Squelch
Hi, Simon. Thank you for the reply to my report in the groups.io list. I asked the question because I saw something beneath the AM Squelch item in the Squelch panel. Whatever it is, it lights up when you mouse over it, which led me to think that it was a mis-displayed control. I'm attaching a non-SD...

Black Cat Systems DX Toolbox & SDR Console
Hello, friends... I learned yesterday that one of my favorite DX tools (quite literally named DX Toolbox) has CAT commands implemented using the Kenwood TS2000 protocol and therefore can tune your receiver using SDR Console. It is not immediately obvious that it can be used this way, and it takes a ...

Re: RX-888 is worth ?
Hi, Pietro: I have an original RX-888 (not the MKII). On the theory that one can never have too many radios, yes, I think this receiver is worth what you'll pay for it. (Currently $188 USD.) A strong point is the 32MHz of usable bandwidth on HF. (The bandwidth is limited to 10MHz for VHF/UHF.) I hav...

Re: New firmware for RX-888
The 4-controller card cured all of my problems. Thanks everyone.

Re: New firmware for RX-888
Hi, Joanne: I think Max was just replying on my behalf. Even though the 2-controller card is more expensive, I ordered the 4-controller card just because it seems that the 4 controllers is more a benefit than the USB 3.2. It should be here today and I'll hopefully get it in tonight and check it out....

Re: New firmware for RX-888
I use the four controller version of the StarTech card. I don't have an Rx-888 but it works nicely with everything I have tried. In theory it can run a total throughput of four times USB 3.1 throughput, full throughput on each controller. If one port is "used up" by something like an AirS...
