Re: Missing 'Dither' setting

Dithering is an ADC capability and no programm function! Hermes LTC2208 provides a physical control pin for dithering.

RIT behavior

Hi, due to the lack of a self-sustaining ‚Split-Function‘ some people use the RIT for that purpose e.g. in pile-ups. The consequence is, that all other added RXs take over the enabled RIT-function and the offset. This behavior is not only uncomfortable, but also confusing. Other SDR software like Po...

Re: OP power and Drive controls question

Hi Bob, I'm not very familiar with that HPSDR derivate Hermes-Lite. The total attenuation of the TX path is 19.5 dB and determined by the modem chip AD9866. Gain can be only controlled digitally. For details see datasheet AD9866, Rev. C, page 30. If firmware and SPI control is done correctly this ch...

Re: HERMES board: Dither and Random?

Of course you can use the benefits of Dither and/or Random, when using the standard software PowerSDR mRX or Thetis. HERMES firmware includes the control bits. As simple execution the SDRC is missing a lot of the functions, the HPSDR boards would be able to offer. It seems that's the concession for ...

... yeah, why not? I'm sure the Amsat ground staff at Bochum will fix the issue soon.

QO-100 beacon issue

... the PSK-beacon presently struggles with some stability problems with direct correlation to the SDRC synchronisation function. Amsat knows the issue. Don't worry.

Re: Step Button missing

No wonder, that's a typical 'Trump effect', but I can promise you that the step button is still present, hi. Disconnect dongle and start PC and SDRC again. If no success reinstall SDRC again.

PSK synchronisation

Hi, lAfter a long time of issue-free work my PSK synchronisation failed spontaneously after a couple of minutes and doesn’t lock again. I checked all HW and SW. No success. At last I discovered the cause: Terrible short spikes on the 50 Hz energy network – probably generated from high energy inverte...

Re: Anan+SDRC- some observations and request for SSB help

Hi Dave, I'm really surprized by your complaints about Thetis (and/or PowerSDR mRX PS ?) concerning digimodes and virtual audio capapility. At least under protocol1 speed I never got issues with PowerSDR or Thetis-P1, especially together with digimodes. Obviously Simon didn't follow the complete roa...
