Re: Receiver Not Found, or Error Starting

Not to make a big deal of this... Oh, all right then. Start SDRC. Select Identity (Main) , Select Radio (FDM-S2), Start. Interface loads perfectly, but "nothing much happening". Uh? Antenna unplugged? Until you notice Home > Select Radio and Start are still enabled. Uh? S2 powered off? USB...

Receiver Not Found, or Error Starting

Started SDRC with receiver name/model "A", not realising it was "B" connected. Eerie lack of activity, maybe antenna loose??? Clicked "Start", restarted program, blah. When the penny finally dropped I realised that failure to start shows up as lack of the full window ti...

Re: Easy access to tuning steps.

Not a chance! Not sure I would want that. Why not? That doesn't seem like something hard to code. And if you don't want to use it, you could just not enable it. One objection is that providing frequency-dependent receiver configuration requires a new "layer" that might be called "ban...

Re: My Dream DF Display

Hmm, thanks for the reactions. Was guessing 3 or 4 was the minimum theoretical, 12-channel would be brilliant but crazy expensive. At the low end angular resolution would be fairly crap, obviously, better with more channels. Also at VHF would expect a lot of distortion from local terrain and other l...

My Dream DF Display

Wondering if such a display is feasible, given a decent antenna array and multi-channel receiver...
Obviously need to tune a specific channel (e.g. a VHF BC frequency).

Please excuse horrible graphic

Re: Click Close Button while radio still playing

Microsoft has made it amazingly difficult to short circuit ALL the various ways to end a program. I wouldn't know, Joanne. But the rich event model in VB seems to provide a lot of protection that has served me well over 30 years. And what I do know is that in getting on for 40 years using MS applic...

Re: Voting or Like/Dislike

People behave and post differently when votes are involved. Hey, why is this thread even still alive? 1. I totally get the quoted point. 2. With Simon too busy to follow every post/thread in detail, the intention was to suggest a tagging mechanism that might just flag up an idea to follow up. 3. I ...

Re: Voting or Like/Dislike

God help us if you implement votes. People who indulge in original thinking would get quashed. That's not good. Joanne, it's my job to be Grumpy, not yours ;). I don't think God could be bothered to intervene, it's not the end of the world. Anyway, don't patronize original thinkers. They likely sti...
