No Visual Gain Control using FDM-DUO

#1

Unread post by g4ogi »

Having returned to using the Elad FDM-DUO more out of curiosity than need, I find that the menu option to reduce Visual Gain on SDR-Console is missing.
The Visual Gain features I used to allow me to control the S-meter reading, which on 50MHz sits about s7 and lower hf bands is even higher (with passive antennas) which means that it is not possible to make any meaningful signal measurement.
Is this by design or was it missed in the radio wrap for the feature?

Hi,

I just didn't see any need on HF and haven't used it on 6m. Easy to add.

I find it extremely useful on 28/50/70MHz so that I can do fast comparisons between beacon signal strengths. It helps to set each beacon in Favourites so that the noise level starts off similar on the screen.
