Hello,
For anyone with a G-31 using on Console:
Would be very interested to hear any comments re the pros and cons
comparisons between a WinRadio G31 Excalibur, and:
SdrPlay RSPdx (other than freq. range)
Airspy HF+ Discovery
Which of the three do you prefer with Console, and why ?
Thanks and regards,
Bob
WinRadio G31 Excalibur Comparisons
Re: WinRadio G31 Excalibur Comparisons
I have a G31DDC, an AirSpy HF, an AirSpy HF+, an SDR1, and I had two SDR2s until each died in a poof of smoke (so I'm not too keen on SDRPlay receivers).
The G31DDC is so superior to the others that it's laughable. It has better selectivity, sensitivity, filters, etc. The difference is immediately apparent.
The size of the Airspy radios does make them far better suited for travel. Plus, at less than 20% the cost of the G31DDC, if one is lost, stolen, or damaged while traveling, it's less of a hit.
The worst thing about the G31DDC is the proprietary USB dongle. As to performance, it's by far the best receiver that I have.
