SDR Console and DAB+ ?
SDR Console and DAB+ ?
Hello, is it possible to receive DAB+ signal with SDR Console ?
Re: SDR Console and DAB+ ?
Probably not natively. An external decoder might do it.

Re: SDR Console and DAB+ ?
Sorry, no. I'll release a DAB+ decoder when the patents expire.
Re: SDR Console and DAB+ ?
Simon. Would it not be possible to integrate DAB and DAB+ like SDR Play do by needing a downloadable codec to enable (see attached), hence passing the responsibility for any potential royalty to the user/operator? Then it's for each user to make their own decision?Simon G4ELI wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 6:55 amSorry, no. I'll release a DAB+ decoder when the patents expire.
I actually think the DAB+ licensing is very poorly worded anyway. Talks about needing to pay a fee for "each product sold". No mention whatsoever of freeware. Pity these people don't think through the consequences of their sloppy wording.

Re: SDR Console and DAB+ ?
It's the HE-AAC v2 audio codec. If / when I write a DAB/DAB+ program I would have to licence it, ~5 Euro / copy. Cost to me is ~1 Euro but there's a minimum amount to pay and then there's the admin.F6GLJ wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 12:16 pmOk Simon, thanks for your reply, I didn't know about patents ;-(Simon G4ELI wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 6:55 amSorry, no.
