Synching frequency with transmitter

I use a Kenwood TS-480 as the transmitter in conjunction with SDR Console. Works great. I am unsure and confused about how to synch the two frequencies. They are very close but other hams have commented about me not being squarely on frequency. Unlike older versions of SDR Console, 3.0.25 I don't believe allows for this correction. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Note, I'm not using the IF output from the rig; I share the antenna with a relay.
So I thought I'd use the rit control on my rig. Again, if there's a better way to do it, please let me know.
Screenshot 152350 show SDR Console tuned to 15.0 MHz WWV. You can see the signal is a bit low. So I adjusted the rit on my rig to to show -0.089 and the signals now line up. I assume the rit value report is in Hz. So when I go to make a contact, the logic escapes me. Should I keep the rit at -0.089 or place it at +0.089?
Thanks for your help!
