Hi,
I like to tear down my old pc tower and update it with a new motherboard, CPU, Memory and Graphics card.
I always did build Intel based pc's but now I like to assemble an AMD based pc since the performance of their CPUs's has improved much in the past two years.
I was thinking of an AMD Ryzen 5-3600 CPU without build in GPU. Combined with a B550 motherboard with M.2 NVMe slots and an Nvidia 1650 super card.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

advise for new pc build wanted
Re: advise for new pc build wanted
CPU is a choice, I went with a 10th Gen I7 for my build last month with a Z490 MB.
But other things, M.2 NVMe is a good choice, I went with a WD Blue 512GB NVMe.
For RAM I went with 32GB.
I run a lot of SDR's on this PC and it screams.

Screams is probably an understatement!
Re: advise for new pc build wanted
Just completed my newbuild today. Sounds like I went pretty much the same was as Gary above. A 10th gen i7-10700 with an Asus Z490-Plus motherboard. It's been up and running for about 20 minutes now. Kept the GeForce GTX1050 video card from my old desktop (which is now running Linux Mint 20) and transferred the Win10 HDD. Took a few minutes to sort the new bios and Windows 10 activated without issue after the move.
Think it's a keeper.

Ha! Was able to keep this upgrade under $650 which was my goal. Maybe I'll upgrade the video and add another 16GB memory sometime in the near future. For right now, I'm happy with the result.

Listening to a spot of music on WRMI 9395. Not sure the CPU can get much lower.

i get pretty much the same on my build from last week. I've now transferred the OS from a SATA SSD to an M2 and that's made a considerable difference to boot time and everything else.

After some research and advice the compilation of the future desktop has changed to the new announced AMD Ryzen 9-5900X 12 core/24 thread CPU (November 2020) with an MSI X570-A pro motherboard with 32Gb DDR4-4000 MHz memory a Samsung 980 PRO-NVMe SSD and the MSI-Geforce-1650 video card. Hope to get the system running by the end of this year.

Hello Ron
Just a quick comment. Be sure to steer clear of the 1650 (regular) version and go for 1650 Super. They are substantially different cards.
The regular 1650 is not a great GPU. The 1650 Super is an excellent card. Be sure to get the Super.
