IQ Recording Scheduler - Editing entries

#1

Unread post by Bjarne Mjelde »

It would be very useful to be able to edit the entries set up in the scheduler. One may want to make small changes to when the recording starts and stops, recurrence etc. The option now is "Copy", and consequently deleting the old entry after making the new one. I will be very embarrased if the option is really there because I could not find it....

It would also be useful to have more flexible recurrence options, such as every hour, or, similar to weekdays, select the hours you wish to record (including "all").

Hi all.
I can only second the suggestion from Bjarne.
This has been on the table before:
viewtopic.php?f=53&t=861
and is still a very valid feature in my opinion.
At that time Simon did a "Thumbs up" to the proposal, so I hope it is on the "to do"-list.

It'll happen. I'm spending a few weeks getting a development framework in place to learn about Direct3D programming (3W waterfalls), this is quite complex stuff.

Hi Simon.

As the MW-DX season is coming up now, are the above features in this thread possibly in the To Do-list?
  • Edit possibility of a entry in the schedule list
  • Repeat function (every hour/day etc.) for a entry in the schedule list
These functions would be very nice and time saving when setting up a scheduled recording list for a night or any time interval.

I have got the impression that they have been accepted before as nice and feasible to add.

Test team now has a kit with 'Repeat every...' which provides hourly repeats. I think you're in the test team?

Hi Simon
Testing in progress.
One first observation; It would be practical to have some kind of "Stop time" or "Number of recordings to make" in order to set a limit when to end.
As is it fills the full day (and night). A set of recordings would most likely cross over to the next day (midnight) and into the morning hours of that day.
You can always say OK to all and then delete the ones you do want (the tail if you like).
Will report back when testing is done as it does involve some time in between the recordings.

Try this, let me know what's needed in a few days.

Hi Simon.
Thanks for addressing this feature.
I have been doing some testing and have these comments:

It might be practical with a "Stop time" or "End time" or "Number of recordings"
I am not able to get a set of recordings that crosses midnight over to the next day. It stops at midnight. See attached screenshot.
If I check both days the recordings the next day start at the same time as on the first day and are not continuing across midnight.
Apart from the above observations it works like a charm. Thanks a lot!
