Waterfall snapshot

Hi Simon,
I think this may have been requested before. Is there any chance to be able to produce a waterfall of a complete IQ recording? I use Data Analyser to check my recordings but that can take a long time to analyse several hours worth. I know that File Player in SDR# does this in seconds and it's so useful, especially in a busy Es season.

Thanks

Mike

So a sort of quick overview? For use in playback?

This is something I have thought about...

I really need this feature and I know of another Broadcast FMDXer also using an S3 who has expressed similar interest.

Trying to review a 10 hour long 24MHz wide recording when I get in from a job has been 'challenging' so much so that I've resorted to opening 100GB Console generated files in Sharp using the file player plugin to quickly review 20 minute segments and spot any Es signals. Because of the differing formats I have to do a couple of calculations to know where to start looking in Navigator, it's a bit of a faff but the only way I've been able to keep up with openings.

As an example this is a 30 minute 10MHz wide (70GB) recording from an AS recorded and played back in #. It takes about 5 seconds to produce this waterfall.

I agree - was thinking about how I would do this quickly, efficiently etc.

Hi Simon,

As you are concentrating on user requests at the moment, could I ask if you have been able to give this any more thought please?

Many thanks,

Mike
