Hi Simon,
The V3 support many Wide Range SDR's.
What the Console V3 lacks is a scan-function.
Thank you.

SDR Console V3 -Scan Functions-
Re: SDR Console V3 -Scan Functions-
I doubt it will ever gain something akin to a traditional scan function given it has the spectrum and receiver matrix to handle this. At any rate I am guessing this is a flat "no" for 3.1 even though the spectrum display could, in principle, grow something akin to a scanner "select the strongest (N) signals and receive them." Then a priority system could be built. It's all too big a project to meet his deadline for rev 3.1. Maybe for a 3.2 or something? Defining the functionality well would be the first step. Play with receivers for awhile then try to define, at a literalist 2 year old level, what the functionality should present to the user. Think "How do you put an elephant in the refrigerator?" Then think, "How do you put a giraffe in that refrigerator?" Make it as bullet proof as your mind can imagine. (Don't forget to remove the elephant before you try to stuff the giraffe in, for example.)

Proper scanning is much more than a 'function' - it's a project it its own right if written properly.

I understand the problem.
That what I mean are not a traditional Scan Function with memory-scan and all the functions that a scanner have. More a function that recognize the strongest station in the present Spectrumbandwidth or so.
I remember me to a Scan-plugin for SDR#
This work good, but only with Airspy and RTL SDR.

Well,
You'll just have to wait I'm afraid.

Fenu, simply recognizing the strongest signal(s) is not really helpful if you want some form of scan functionality. You soon discover you need a list of excluded frequencies, for example. It is very easy for me to understand Simon's reluctance to take this on at this time.

Re: SDR Console V3 -Scan Functions-
If only I had programming skills, I'd try and write a scanner that will work via a serial port. Virtual serial port connected to Console.. job's a good un. It woul'dnt be as good as a proper scanner within Console (no squelch control), but it would be something.
Sadly, I have neither the skills or the time to carry out such a task. I have looked around for a scanner utility with a simple serial interface that would interface with a variety of common radios/manufacturers, but I have yet to find one. There is Frequency Manager written by an American chap which I think worked via a plugin for SDR#, but for some reason he never interfaced it with Console V3.

I have patience. If it comes it would be great. If not, that's okay too.
But we see that it can work.
Thanks in advance.
