Canadian RDS : automatic callsigns & location decoding

Hi Simon,

One thing I'd like to see added is Canadian RDS callsign & location decoding similar to that done for the USA (which is AWESOME by the way - makes quick IDs so easy). A while back I sent you the Canadian algorithm. I hope you find time to add it some day.

Cheers,
William.

Hi,

Send me that again by direct email, I now have time to look at this. Problem would be at the border...

Will do. There would be no problem at the border as USA and Canadian PIs don't overlap at all, even the network codes.

Where does console pull the info from for the city associated with the decoded call letters from the PI code for US stations? One of my locals, 107.3 WKVB, still displays as "Fort Matlida, PA" which is where the WKVB call letters were until a little over 2 years ago.

It's a big database - there's an algorithm for converting PI Code to Call for US stations. When I add the Canada support I'll check for an update.

FWIW see: https://picodes.nrscstandards.org/fs_pi ... cated.html I can't find the FCC source.
