2nd RX888 hardware instance not differentiated

#1

Unread post by N8CVW »

Greetings All,

Under v3.1, I've added a 2nd RX888, but it seems to be sharing the same "radio entry" as the 1st RX888, therefore cannot be selected uniquely. Selecting either Definition will operate the same on whichever single RX888 is plugged in, ignoring the other RX888, which is silent, no waterfall activity, etc.

Both RX888's display the same serial number in the Definitions.

Before I carry on ad infinitum, should it be possible to attach (2) RX888s each with their own Definition (especially Clock Correction !) ?

Kind thanks,

Paul

I'll do this soon, working on the website for the next week or two.

Wonderful Simon, thank you !

no rush, I was mainly concerned that it was operator error,

and I’m still wondering if the non-unique serial numbers are a problem

but I’m thinking that there being distinction by the two Cypress FX instances will suffice

anyway many thanks !

Fortunately, thanks to Oscar and Franco on the ExtIO project for RX888s, we now know how to find the unique identifier in the USB hardware used in RX888s. And that has been passed on to Simon to make it easier for him. I just hope he has time for this before the big 3.1 release.

Let's see - next week I'm playing hardware infrastructure as I must make all my server stuff live in VMs. In theory I'll have time...
