A RX-666 is in the post from jolly Germany to windy Cornwall.
When the RX-666 arrives I'll start the integration, will be most interesting. With luck the RX-888 will work, there are SDR Console users with RX-888 eager to start testing.

Re: On Its Way
Well, you got me beat. I just ordered an RX-888 and the expected delivery is Thu, Sep 17 - Tue, Oct 13.
Maybe it will work out to be sooner, sometimes you just can't tell with these guys. But yes, I will be among the eager testers.

Re: On Its Way
I know little about the inner workings of SDRs, but there is obviously more than number of bits at work determining the dynamic range/ultimate rejection of one 16-bit SDR versus another.
My FDM-S2 and RX-888 are both 16-bit units, but I have found that the RX-888 can dig out very weak audio at times when the FDM-S2 cannot. I was testing on 1460 kHz during midday just 10 kHz from my local medium wave pest station. There was a 60 dB difference in signal between the two and you could barely see the 1460 peak buried at the edge of the 1450 pest station's pass band. The RX-888 had signs of audio in USB, but I never heard any audio from the FDM-S2. All settings were the same, and of course both were using HDSDR. The only difference I couldn't account for was the sampling rate difference (RX-888 has a 2000 kHz choice, and the closest for the FDM-S2 is 1536 kHz).
N6ATC-- have fun with that RX-888 when you receive it!

Re: On Its Way
Simon where did you order it from?
Re: On Its Way
RX999 might not manifest.

If it does, it is going to be there for a while

RPeeters:
I ordered mine from here. I think Simon may have received a loaner/donor unit to get adapted into SDRC. (That's merely speculation, Simon never said that. as far as I know.)
