Multiple receivers at same time

#1

Unread post by Moriarty »

How can i run 3 or 4 or 6 receivers at same time and link each one to an instance of wsjtx? Wich software supports this?
I now can do this with my sdrpaly and sdruno software but only at 10 mhz bandwidth and í want to do with the rx888 at 20 or 30 mhz bandwidth. But rx888 does not suport sdruno
I need a diferent cat control for each receiver and that is suported by sdruno but í can not do with sdr console.
Thanks
Martín

Yes you can run even more receivers as long your PC can handle the extra load.
Go to Receive tab and click the Add (+) button. Activate each receiver by clicking the Speaker buttons and assign a VAC to each one.

Under this Receive tab you find also the RX Matrix button. If you have opened that then click on DSP. Directly under the RX frequency you'll see the Audio output selector where you can choose the VAC's that have to be installed on your PC before ofcource.

btw i don't have a 888 so don't know what it's max bandwidth is.

What PD3LK says.
I run Console with an Elad S2 and tuned to 1.8, 3.5, 7Mhz FT8 freqs running to separate instances of JTDX and it works very well.

PD3LK, í can do what you said, linking each vac to each receiver, but
How i can do the same with the cat control?

G0ofe, how do you asing a cat control port to each instance of wsjtx on sdrconsole? I do not find how to do that in sdrconsole
Thanks

Hi, i think that is not possible in one and the same SDRC instance and with the same radio.

No, can't be done, unfortunately.

Can it be done with multiple instances of SDRC perhaps?

I tried that with the SDRplay, making a Child but the max bandwidth between both instances becomes a lot smaller then.
Display 20m and 40m bands is fine when using the Matrix and 2 receivers. (SDRplay @ 10Mhz width)
But when i use 40m on the main SDRC the max freq that i can tune on the Child 12.2 Mhz. Higher doesn't show the FFT and WF anymore.

But if someone has the time and money for it :D

I don't understand these things too well, but gather something like the Flex can have multiple ADCs and process them "simultaneously".
An RSPduo has (real or virtual?) twin ADCs and can multiplex their output onto one USB channel for use by SDRuno. Elad ditto.

It's up to the client software if it can handle multiplexed or multiple USB port data.
The only one I'm aware of is SDRangel.
