From my observation, I can see that the RX hardwaregain is not correctly set on first start of the Radio (after powering on the Pluto). My Pluto starts with a default gain of 71 (see also viewtopic.php?f=6&t=186). So it may very well be a subtle timing issue.

This is the next thing I'll look at - Pluto is on and running, been playing with my map & CQ/ITU zones yesterday evening/this morning.
