Hi,
this is a crosspost, it first appeared here (I just joined the forum this morning):
https://sdr-radio.groups.io/g/main/message/62359
I have found an entry in today's Windows Event Viewer that the SDRServerService.exe has crashed last night.
At that time, I didn't use it, and to be more precise, the remote server running SDRServerService has been idle for the whole weekend, so it must have crashed due to another event on the machine. Running out of memory was my first thought.
The machine itself has 8 GB of RAM, which is more than adequate if the server would host the SDR server alone, but that isn't the case. I also use another app for monitoring digital signals, via a totally independent path, there is no interaction with SDRC at all.
The other application has crashed as well and did before, so I guess this is the right path to look for potential issues (and I think this app has a memory leak).
Anyway, all I have right now is the event log with some memory offset and such. For what it's worth, here's the output:
Faulting application name: SDRServerService.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x5fd739f3
Faulting module name: mfc140u.dll, version: 14.24.28127.4, time stamp: 0x5d8e6ad5
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00000000001e33b2
Faulting process id: 0x9c4
Faulting application start time: 0x01d72fb9c90b3097
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\SDR-Radio.com (V3)\SDRServerService.exe
Faulting module path: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\mfc140u.dll
Report Id: 163ad453-6440-4f87-a2dd-7ccdadff4d72
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to provide more information.
Application error, SDRServerService.exe

Re: Application error, SDRServerService.exe
You could verify that there is a memory leak here by monitoring memory usage over time.
Since multiple programs are crashing, perhaps there is something wrong with the computer itself. This could be as simple as over used USB connectors that have gotten flaky.

Re: Application error, SDRServerService.exe
hi, i think you have to (re)install newer MS Visual Studio library files.
Latest MFC140u.dll is version 14.28.29334.0 (2019)

Re: Application error, SDRServerService.exe
I'm slowly working through outstanding issues - the service can crash but is configured to restart.
