It's all about the Software

Pointing towards our local broadcast FM mast signals can reach 80dBuV so are at the very limit of the S3 signal handling. Overloading can be mitigated by switching off the software preamp or adding some attenuation. The problem is when recorded files are played back it appears the preamp was active during the recording, I'm not sure how this is possible because listening live whilst recording everything appears to be working correctly. I've re run the test using Elads SW2 software and playback is indentical to recording.

Is it possible there's a hidden preamp functon applied to the playback that I can't see or switch off?
