The visual gain control behaves peculiarly. If the visual gain is set too high the radio overloads. If it is set too low the signal vanishes. The visual gains at which it misbehaves depend on the RF gain setting. This appears to be seen with several radios as noted in a message thread on the groups.io site.
My tentative diagnosis is visual gain is applied to the A/D output and the radio DSP is using either a very limited exponent range floating point or a fixed point implementation.
The second bug is a small one. There is no visual gain setting possible with my rtlsdr dll source rather than yours.
