Super Station #1 Antenna is bad?

#1

Unread post by KA1GJU »

Something is wrong with Super Station #1, all signals are down by +20dB. Will have to walk out and check the antenna. We had horrendous winds for two days, and may be laying of ground or in pieces. Was too dark to investigate when I discovered it this evening. Pneumatic tennis ball launcher and weighted tennis balls are on standby...

I will update in the AM after sunrise.

Yup, antenna found in a large pile at base of tree. Tension line at the far end broke at the antenna wire junction. Curently draped through 8' high branches, will make noise with air compressor once N1YGF wakes up.

All complete, ~50 feet vertical and remaining +100 feet is flat top (inverted L config). Similar WWV reception on 15MHz to PCARC, Super stations #2 and #3.
