Is it possible for SDRC to control (send band data) an external BPF like the OM-Poer OM6BPF ?

I don't think SDRC outputs band data as far as I recall, although I believe it has been asked for more than once.

Probably the way to do it is a band decoder driven by CAT from SDRC using Kenwood TS2000 profile. I've got one of these:

https://remoteqth.com/arduino-band-decoder.php

Sadly I see it is discontinued but there may be some used ones around? I see they provide all the files to build it yourself if feeling adventurous.

Amazingly I have looked for ages to find CAT to band relay boards or kits and although they did exist nobody seems to do one at the moment. I think easiest way would be to out out a "wanted" for one of the above units.

Another idea.... (not ideal I know) to go around it by using logging program connected to SDRC (if you use one) to drive this:

There's a 16 output version available.

Depending on how you feel purchasing from Russia?

https://ra0sms.shop/index.php/catalog/b ... -protocol/

But surely someone in the West makes a CAT to Yaesu/Kenwood Band Data converter (as the OM6BPF takes Band Data).

Works very well. But did not improve reception performance. The Airspy has excellent preselectors

I suspect that is not practical to build an analog preselector that will outperform what I believe the AirSpy HF+s use.

Indeed the airspy has sufficient pre-selectors but this is beneficial for any wideband RX like the Kiwi or the RX888

Um, yes, and no. If you put a preselector on a very wideband front end this will severely restrict access by any multiple receiver use to frequencies within that preselector's bandpass. Off hand I do not know of a means controlling the preselector from within SDRC, likely because of that limitation and the way receivers work. The basic problem comes down to a DWIM dilemma. ("Dammit machine, do what I mean not what I say!" The mind reading filters are not ready yet.)
