BeaconOffsets data file

#1

Unread post by dl2mdq »

Hi Simon,
the number of lines in the BeaconOffsets file seems restricted to 10 000 lines. To write the offsets for a full 24 hour period, this is not enough.
Is it possible to increase the maximum number to 20 000, or alternatively to increase the measuring interval which at the moment is in the range of seconds, while minutes are sufficient for my application (Doppler shift measurement).
Thanks, Hans DL2MDQ

Noted.

You realise you can measure / plot the Doppler from the TLE data?

OK,

Just checked - not limited to 10,000 lines, how are you viewing the file?

I suggest opening the file with Notepad, looking at the time of the first and last entry.

Make sure you have selected a sensible buffer size (below).

And here's a file with over 72,000 lines for you to test.

Also, I wonder whether we need an option to display only one value per second? At the moment it's 20 entries per second.

Hi Simon, thanks very much for your effort.
1: we don't need the option to display only one per second. That was only meant as an alternative in case the maximum number of lines is indeed retricted. How many measurements are made / lines are written seems to depend on the stabilty of the LOs in use. In my case it varies between one per second to one in almost 20 s.
2: thus my problem seems to be the buffer size selected; could you please show where I can change the buffer size. I remember to have seen it already, but at the moment I can't find it.
3: I can read your 72 000 lines CSV file. My ones are so far always restricted to 10 000. When further writing, new lines are written while those from the beginning are erased.
Happy New Year!

sorry,
can't find the possibiity to change the buffer size for BeaconOffsets data. I now see it for the example attached in your reply: SignalHistory,
but not in BeaconOffsets. CSV file shows 10000 lines in maximum (attachment).
