Odd. My logic says that what you are seeing is direct sampling of anything received on the H port, and indirect via tuner on the V port?
The only thing I see from Paul's description is that there is most likely some crossover between the two tuning ranges i.e. the VHF tuner goes down to about 30 MHz maybe?
Is this not confirmed by Paul seeing some small level differences? Also could be confirmed by how much bandwidth you can see either side of the centre frequency depending on whether the antenna is connected to H or V. I'd expect to see 32 MHz bandwidth available on the H port?

I’d say the most direct indication is the behavior of activation of the vhf amplifiers as 32MHz is crossed.,
and, that adjustment of the VHF LNA & VGA are operative.
This suggests there is a shared RF path, whether direct or ‘indirect’, bleedthrough, common path (?)
