I got the chance to buy an Elad-duo. After reading the sdr-radio website, it is still not clear what I could use to activate the PTT with a down to earth simple setup. Any suggestions?

Vox, press [TX], etc.?
I think you can connect a footswitch but I have forgotten.
I use the DUO a lot on HF and to drive transverters, so if you get stuck just shout. It's a superb radio.

From Elad Duo section:
https://www.sdr-radio.com/elad-transcei ... figuration
PTT
PTT using a foot switch connected to the DUO is not supported, remember the DUO is under computer control. If you want foot switch / external PTT support see:
https://www.sdr-radio.com/ptt
Hope it helps?

Re: starting with the Elad-Duo
I do have a foot switch and I will see how to implement it. In the meantime, I will use the software PTT. Now I go and shop for a nice sounding usb microphone. I did consult the sdr-radio.com/ptt page and find it and it seems not easy to implement a circuit to get things done.
Any tips for a good quality microphone with a decent boom arm. I hate running any more curly wires over my desk like hand microphones do.
Simon, I remember you mentioned a TONOR microphone back in the day's. Is it a good thing using a USB model?

Ron,
I use microphones connected to the PC, I really like the Sennheiser 835. You'll need the right cable, I can also recommend this USB soundcard.

Thanks, Simon. Yes, I can also walk this path. I have a Steinberg UR12 with a low-cost microphone and see what's happening. The PTT of the console does its job OK.

I wonder if I might suggest to Simon MIDI PTT?

Re: starting with the Elad-Duo
Simon,
Seems the PWR output of the DUO is very low (1W) when set on MAX, even with the two-tone transmit test. The PWR scale shows a possible maximum of 3W. In the video you made, this PWR scale is 10W. Did I make a bad setting in the console?

Re: starting with the Elad-Duo
Ron,
Please - why must I always ask for screenshots? How else do I know what you're doing?
Re: starting with the Elad-Duo
Simon, I posted the screenshot in the IO group as I do not see how to do this here.
