Execute scripts/commands/programms via MIDI

Hi,
first of all my situation: On my station PC, I am running SDR Console, a software for controlling a remote antenna switch and a self-written tool that motivates a remotly installed ATU to find a new tuning solution the next time it will see RF.
It would be very comfortable to do all this via the MIDI controller with just a few buttons. There could be a dialogue for e.g. 10 different executions where you each configure:
* the MIDI button
* the program you want to start
* parameters for the program (maybe together with the above setting)
* maybe an option to terminate the program after x seconds of execution to prevent things...
In future versions, SDR Console might additonally be able to read back the return code and then change the buttons color
This would be a very handy and universal feature in my opinion.
Thanks
odie
Edit: This would/should of course not be limited to a MIDI controller. Software buttons in one of the sidebars would be benefitial, too.
