Getting New Icom R8600 Going With Program ?

Hello,
Have a new Icom R8600 trying to get going with program.
Program won't "see it," after trying to add radio as a new definition.
Even won't using the Search function for finding new radios.
Not sharp enough to know what to do next.
Is it a setting in the radio perhaps ?
The radio is using LAN. Is this the problem ?
Any thoughts as to what to try next, and/or do would be most appreciated.
BTW: Is this the correct, or best, Forum to post my problems in ?
