Media-Tech USB RTL dongle installed, recognized, no signal at all
any idea ?
small indoor antenna installed by default
no signal at all
RTL usb dongle donated by my friend
since another Media Tech usb dongle purchased a week ago was to short to feature RTL chip inside, since it as a single Taiwan chip DVB-T dongle.

If it is not a genuine RTL dongle I am afraid you are on your own. Normally there are two (significant) chips inside, the A/D converter/USB chip and the tuner chip.
The trick for you will be to figure out how to set the rtlsdr dongle's gain. Search the ribbon bar diligently. And, yes, I do get snarky when somebody posts expecting an instant answer in a small group. I know you want to get your new toy working. I've been there before. But, patience is a serious winning strategy.
