Hi, Greetings. I can't get the software to see the bandscope of my icom 7300. Suggestions? Will compatibility be added in the future?

More explanation needed. Which SDR are you using to extract the spectrum information and how is it configured?

Perhaps take a read here first?

Good morning. Yes, I also followed the steps with the omnirig, external radio etc, but the rtl sdr software doesn't connect to the 7300 and I don't see the waterfall. I wasted an entire day trying it and I'm a little disappointed. I'm already using the rtl sdr software with an original RTL dongle and I really love this software. I was hoping to be able to use it with the 7300 too.

If you are using the new RTL dongles you must get a new rtlsdr.dll. This comes in the most recent release for public testing.

no problem with rtl dongle, it's ok, but icom ic-7300 on rtl software it's the problem. Also with omnirig, the radio it's connected on com 3 port, but no waterfall on rtl sdr program :-(

You need to give more detail on your setup. Is RTL-SDR connected to IF output on the IC-7300 or is it direct from antenna via RX antenna splitter? IMO the RTL-SDR is not going to be very good as a "parallel" HF receiver using an antenna splitter compared to RX on the 7300. As a receiver on the IF output then maybe it is OK. In which case you need one of these:

https://www.wimo.com/en/ptrx-7300

Anyway, maybe look at these two videos for some tips on basic setup with antenna splitter in which case you probably need an SDR better than the RTL-SDR for any worthwhile performance on HF:

If you must use RTL-SDR on HF fed from antenna (not IF feed) then best to get the latest version RTL-SDR blog V4. HF performance is much improved over any other versions:

https://www.rtl-sdr.com/rtl-sdr-blog-v4 ... l-release/

If you wish to run RTL-SDR V4 then you need to run latest SDR Console Beta 3.3 version which has the correct dll already packaged with it. No need for any other downloads:

Good luck and 73

Hi, I apologize if I didn't provide more explanations. I'm afraid I'm wrong and I apologize. I connected it
the 7300 directly to the computer with the official Icom cable and drivers. I saw some videos on YouTube and thought I could show the waterfall directly in the SDR console on the computer. Obviously I was wrong. I will follow your advice and thank you for the explanations you gave me. Best regards

Yes, you can show the bandscope/waterfall on the local (and a remote computer), using Icom's expensive RS-BA1v2 software. But the sampling rate is so small, when blown up on a computer screen, it looks like Picasso painting up close... all messed up! If you want to see the most minute of details, a separate SDR and SDR Console is the way to go. You will see things never possible on the crude bandscope/waterfall on a IC-7300, 7600, 7610.

No problem. Pleased to hear that we solved the mystery!

Good luck however you decide to proceed. Come back here if you need further advice to get going.

If you are mainly an HF operator, you might consider going "Full SDR" with purchase of Hermes Lite 2 HF transceiver. Price very reasonable and much more simple to operate with SDR Console than all the trouble of trying to sync an external radio with RTL or other receiver. You would not be disappointed.
