While my RTL-SDR v4 is working in SDRSharp, SDR++ and SDRAngel, it fails to work in SDR Console. It simply does not show anything and when I hit stop, the proces locks up. Tried v3.3 and v3.4 Beta. What did I do wrong?

RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
Re: RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
I avoid RTL's like the plague due to their finickiness.
Having said that, SDRC V3.4 I believe has the drivers to operate it. Have you deleted the definition and made a new one once running SDRC v3.4 beta?

Thank you for your suggestion. I've did as you suggested and removed the definition and used Search to find a new one. Same results unfortionally.
Re: RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
I use RTL V4 with software SDR Consolle without any problem,
but maybe you need to install the correct driver:

Re: RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
Lars, I wonder where you sourced your V4 from? It sounds odd that it locks up SDRC V3.4 as many of us have the RTL-SDR Blog V4 running perfectly OK on SDRC.
Is there any chance at all it may not be a genuine V4? Apparently there are many fakes out there and if you did not purchase direct from RTL-SDR Blog themselves then this is a risk.
See here:

If you installed SDRC v3.4 then should be no need to install driver separately as it's included in SDRC. I guess you must have run Zadig in order to run it on the other software that you mention?

If it is replacing a former rtlsdr dongle then he may have to create a definition specifically for the new dongle.

Re: RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
Lars, the look of your pictures suggests Windows. What version of Windows are you using? For example, it's likely to have problems with Windows 7. (But, that would be failure to load, I think.)

Re: RTL-SDR v4 does not work with SDR Console
I am going to go out on a limb here and suggest what Lars is reporting may be either a bug with SDRC or possibly not a bug but nonetheless the behavior may only occur with certain hardware and setting cocktails and SDRC.
In my case, I can recreate this exact behavior on demand. I have an SDRPlay RSP1A and RSPDX-R2. When clicking on Radio Configuration and changing the latency to highest and, this is important, stop and restart SDRC afterwards, bam, I have the problem. To fix the problem, SDRC has to be running with the black screen waterfall or you can't get to the Radio Configuration. Then you choose any other latency setting, I usually run High since this problem prevents me from using Highest. Then you have to stop and restart SDRC. Bam, problem fixed.
That all said, Lars is using RTL-SDR Blog V4 and probably does not have the latency setting I am referring to. I have a V3 and it does not have a latency setting and so far as I can remember, I cannot create this problem as stated with the RTL-SDR Blog V3.
Anyway, maybe my experience with this may turn on a light bulb with someone somewhere as to what the cause is.
Lastly in my case, I use a crappy old Dell laptop running an AMD processor with Windows 10. I suspect if this is not a SDRC bug per se, it may be related to my computer not having enough horsepower and/or some obscure interaction between SDRC and AMD processors. If this was a common problem more people would complain about it and they are not, so far as I am aware.
