Tweak the Data::Playback icons

#1

Unread post by DaveB »

Refers to the beta test version from the 17th? and 20th

At some point could you please tweak the layout of the four icons for opening a file, play, play previous, play next.

It would be more intuitive if for example you had the "Open" icon on the left and the Play, Next, and Prev as a stack of three on the right.

Or possibly arranged as 2 x 2 with Open and Play on the left and Next, Prev on the right.

Thanks

Hi DaveB and all.
With all respect, I am not sure the logic you propose is more intuitive than the present one.
Have you tried out the function of these buttons in detail?
If you start from scratch, no file playing, you hit the "Open" button and get the window as the enclosed screenshot.
In this window you chose the file you want and press the "Play" and the wanted file starts to play.
While playing, the "Play" button is grayed out and the "Stop", "Pause", "Play prev" and "Play next" buttons are highlighted. See second attached screenshot.
By simply pressing "Play prev" or" Play next" button respectively file OPENS and PLAYS.
So, the present logic is as intuitive, maybe even more so, as the placement that you propose.

Hi,
I'[ve found out that this is a 'problem' to do with the size of the window' If SDR Console is maximised on a widescreem monitor it shows as four icon in a row - perfactly logical. But is the width is slightly less than full screen these four icons shrink and rearrange themselves with the first one "Prev" staying full sized.
