It's all about the Software

I am trying to free up some CPU% while using SDRC with the RX-888 and hoped to gain by enabling CUDA on my GTX580 Nvidia graphics card. The GTX580 is old (~10 years) but does have CUDA (confirmed in CUDA diagnostics). However, when I enable CUDA in SDRC the Plan appears as IPP. On my son's computer with a more recent GTX card CUDA is activated and frees up a load of CPU% I have the latest Nvidia drivers.

So the question is am I missing something obvious or is it simply that the GTX580 is too old and I need to purchase a better graphics card?

Barry, you are right the GTX580 does have CUDA but is rated as 2.0 compute capability so doesn't meet the SDRC requirements (3.0). So it looks like a new card is needed. Not sure how I missed this.

Simon, I have my answer, but I have attached logfile anyway. It is only the RX-888 that gives me CPU problems, ANAN and Airspy HF+ work fine.

I do like the 1650 Super...

1650 Super looks v. nice but a bit pricey for me! Probably will settle on a GTX 950 or similar.
