HDR Mode Questions

Hello,
Have a few basic questions re the HDR Mode with a RSPdx, please:
Asking, as I seem to be having contradictory results, and it's obvious that I really
don't have a firm understanding of using it, and/or making it active.
a. That you can start the program with any selection, and later on simply select <2MHz Low IF from the HONE/BANDWIDTH on the ribbon.
Is this correct ? (doesn't appear to be true ?). Or, you really have to initially start with the <2MX Low If selection ?
*and, if has to be actually started with, anything below <2MHz, or has to be the actual <2MHz option ?
b. And during usage, if not at < the 2MHz Low IF, you can go back to it on the Ribbon later,
and it will again be "active.
Correct ?
c. A few words of how to select and use all the filter options for this mode
would really be helpful.
What else should I be asking re it's usage ? Hints/caveats ?
Do you folks find it a very useful mode to use ? Why ?
Thanks, much appreciate the help, as always,
Bob
