Any Program Indication That RF Gain Too High ?

Hello,
Have a RSPdx.
Is there any "visual" program indication that you have the rf Gain set to high, and possibly overloading the RSPdx ?
If not, what's a good way of telling ?
Thanks,
Bob

Robert,
Although I haven't seen it lately, I'm pretty sure there is a pop-up overload message in the middle of the waterfall. Tried to force my RSP2 into an overload, but the message did not appear. I will post a pic if successful.

I am not sure how I would go about that. Most front end hardware such as rtlsdr dongles do not export a flag that indicates that the A/D converter has overflowed. That is the information that is needed.
However, you generally do get visual indication when a small increase in gain or the appearance of a strong signal causes the spectrum to go crazy and the noise floor increase dramatically. When you really do hit overload it's rather dramatic on the spectrum.

"Signal Overload" listening to "Overcomer Ministry".
Now why would that surprise me?
