Probably not natively. An external decoder might do it.

Sorry, no. I'll release a DAB+ decoder when the patents expire.

Simon. Would it not be possible to integrate DAB and DAB+ like SDR Play do by needing a downloadable codec to enable (see attached), hence passing the responsibility for any potential royalty to the user/operator? Then it's for each user to make their own decision?

I actually think the DAB+ licensing is very poorly worded anyway. Talks about needing to pay a fee for "each product sold". No mention whatsoever of freeware. Pity these people don't think through the consequences of their sloppy wording.

No, this is not legal.

Perhaps someone should tell SDR Play!

It's the HE-AAC v2 audio codec. If / when I write a DAB/DAB+ program I would have to licence it, ~5 Euro / copy. Cost to me is ~1 Euro but there's a minimum amount to pay and then there's the admin.

I'm sitting here with the ELAD S3 and can see a lot of DAB spectrum but can't listen. There is no solution from ELAD either...

I can pay for it no problem. Is there a possibility that you can put in a decoder but it won't work unless we buy an unlock key? Maybe there is a solution that we buy directly from the owner of the patents so that you don't have to be financially involved? Or maybe if you could consider doing a separate (profitable?) business on DAB for this obvious reason (which is highly motivated)?

Just some thoughts.
Sincerely,
Per
