No Antenna selection option

#1

Unread post by G4CLY »

Hi,
I have had SDR Console (V3.2 build 2731) running happily with RSPdx for several months. A couple of weeks ago I unplugged the PC to move it. Now reconnected I find I have a problem. SDR Console runs happily and appears to be responding connecting with the RSPdx - but no signal. I only use one antenna (in ANT A) but wondered if it had become mis-set. Surprise, surprise - I no longer have the antenna symbol under Main so I can't check or change. Screenshot attached. Any ideas?

Have you allowed SDR Console to Search for your RSPdx to update the RSPdx radio definition?

Any reason why you haven't upgrade to the current release?

Your attachment shows the receiver stopped, the antenna selection only shows when the receiver is running.

Thank you both. I spotted that the USB connection to the RSP had lost its driver, probably after I replugged the USBs. With a bit of fiddling I re-established it and all was well. The lesson is that i need to keep note of which device is on which USB and replug them in the same place. I will probably never need to do so anyway. On the bright side it has made me register with this forum which must be a good thing.

I have the same problem. I went to add SDR Play and it "replaced" definition although it does not show SDR Play in the definition, it says unknown although it does show the serial number. I downloaded SDR Play API and installed, rebooted, plugged back in but still have same issue. Any other suggestions? I am using RSPDX-R2

Firstly, make sure you are running the most up to date version of SDR Console and that you are only using the version downloaded from the official SDR Console website:

https://www.sdr-radio.com/download#Release

After download and installation should show V3.3. I think it is Build 3236 (Feb 5th 2024).

Go back to Definitions screen. Delete the SDR Play definition completely, being sure to exit the dialogue by pressing "Save". Shutdown then restart SDR Console.

Re-add the SDR Play definition. Make totally sure to select the V3 option:

See what happens then.

The other thing with regard to SDR Play SDRs is they need plenty of USB power. If still no joy, try a different USB cable. Always make sure to connect to a powered hub, never passive, or direct to the PC itself.

Good luck

And if the PC is a laptop make sure the selected USB port has full USB 3, especially power options, enabled.
