New Filtering

#1

Unread post by Simon G4ELI »

So,

With new filtering in place for the 1 MHz bandwidth I have the CPU load down to 0.5% on my i5-8600K (not overclocked). The more I use this 16-bit ADC design the more I life it and look forward to new ADC-based SDRs in 2021.

I'm now ending the the RX-666 development for the time being and returning to other areas of the software.

Hi Simon.
Great to hear, thanks for your swift response and work on these now radios.
Does SDRC separate RX-666 and RX-888 and identify them as two different radios with slightly different features or as the same?
Different drivers to use them?
What is your experience of the VHF/UHF performance of your unit? Any comparison to other SDR's?

Simon,

Any chance of supporting the QS1R? Some of us have this fine SDR.

Sorry, no. I don't have one and don't have much time left for 2020.

Hi,

I don't think I can detect the difference, sorry. The driver is the same, Cypress FX3. VHF / UHF not so great, it's really a superb HF radio.

The QS1R looks nice but it is a USB-2 SDR. I find all newer USB-3 developments much more interesting. Regards, Leon
