Console Does not Find my SDRPlay Duo

Hello, I'm running Console on Linux Mint, using Wine. It installed fine, no errors and runs fine. I have also installed SDRplays API V3.15. When start Console, I'm prompted to find my SDR device, I go to Definitions, SDRplay and I have the option of Ver 2 or Ver 3. Selecting Version 3 reults in this window, see attached. So Console detects that the API is running, but it apparently cannot find my SDR. Having read your documentation, it says that the full line of SDRPlay hardware is supported. So, I wonder what's not working. Can you make some suggestions?

USB is the killer. The dll that connects the dongle front end cannot load the libusbxxx.dll that bridges into the USB system. You MIGHT try placing "libusb_1.0.dll" in the folder with SDRConsole. (That is if your device involves libusb_1.0.) But I suspect it won't find what it needs to connect to, WinUSB.sys. This is a place where WINE has not managed to arrive yet. At the moment only network interface devices work. This annoys me as well as I am sure it annoys you. But, those are the cards as they are currently dealt.

Conceptually a small software shim should be able to load the Linux libusb_1.0 driver and present an appropriate DLL interface to the program running under WINE. But. that is well above my Linux experience grade. I may be reaching levels of frustration with Windows to learn. But that's a big push for an 82 year old.

If you get lucky you may be able to setup a windows virtual machine for SDRConsole and arrange for it to own the SDRPlay item you are using.

<sigh> That seems like a lot of gymnastics to get Console to run on linux and detect my SDR . . . that second one is essential I think I need to use a linux native app, then. Thanks for your advice.

If you are not a Linux purist some of the little 5"x5"x3" boxes can run SDRC under Windows for surprisingly low prices.
