I/m trying to modify the 2 meter favorite 144-148. It does not display the full frequency range. I've tried to expand the range by dragging out the range at the bottom of the waterfall and clicking the update icon in the favorites bar. I click off the 2 meter and then click back onto it and no change has been saved. I also tried creating a new favorite to no avail.
What I get for display when I click on the saved 2m favorite after trying to update it....
Still unable to modify favorite
Re: Still unable to modify favorite
I see exactly the same behaviour but it seems because the bandwidth displayed when recalled from a favourite is (for some reason) modified to only show the bandwidth of your receiver even if the stored bandwidth of the Favourite is wider. You have not shown a full screenshot (please always do for a question like this one) so it's not possible to see all information, but from the waterfall, looks like you have 2 MHz bandwidth selected in your hardware but you are asking Favourite to recall 4 MHz of bandwidth. It will currently only do this if receiver is set to 4MHz + of bandwidth. I verified this by setting different bandwidths in my SDR (in the top left of Ribbon Bar). For example, if I use 8 MHz bandwidth on my RSP2 all is recalled OK for Favourite stored bandwidths up to 8MHz wide, but if I use 384kHz bandwidth of my HL2 display width is always restricted on recall of the Favourite to 384 kHz wide, regardless of if the stored display bandwidth is much higher.
So to test this theory, "Stop" your receiver and try again with a blank display. You will see it all works as intended. Or of course if your hardware is capable, select 4 MHz or more of receiver bandwidth, and all comes good.
Why the favourite forces the edge of the display to the available receive bandwidth I don't know. Would need to ask Simon. I think it would be better if it simply acted as "commanded" by the Favourite setting and displayed the full recalled bandwidth, regardless of the "active" hardware bandwidth. I guess this would be more accurate way of handling it?
But anyway, at present it's "by design", intended or otherwise!

Re: Still unable to modify favorite
Good call Max. That did it. I changed the bandwidth of the receiver to 6MHz and it displays full frequency range. As you say, if I set it to 4Mhz it does not. Have to go to next higher bandwidth setting.

Re: Still unable to modify favorite
That's good John. Glad my ramblings made sense, but to some extent I still think you have a point, and that the recalled bandwidth should be as saved, regardless of the hardware bandwidth, exactly as it does with no receiver running. Maybe Simon will have a view/comment?
